Are you a theatremaker who is self-employed, a freelancer, and/or working as a 1099 contractor? If so, you should be able to access federal relief from the Payroll Protection Program (PPP). We’re pleased to invite you to technical assistance sessions on Wednesday, March 3, 2021, 3-4pm ET and Monday, March 8, 2021, 4-5pm ET to help you navigate this important relief opportunity. This technical assistance session will be led by Andrea Nellis, TCG’s interim CFO, working with Lucy Mallett of Arts FMS.

Over the past year, TCG has fought hard to make sure that freelance theatremakers and other gig economy workers with mixed income sources (such as W-2s and 1099) receive full support from federal relief, rather than unfairly being limited to partial benefits. The Biden administration has just altered the Paycheck Protection Program’s rules, increasing the amount sole proprietors are eligible to receive and imposing a 14-day freeze on loans to companies with 20 or more employees. This means the time is now to apply to this critical source of relief. Please learn more about TCG’s overall efforts to advocate and disseminate federal relief efforts here.
