NEA Temporarily Reopens

As you know, we've been closely tracking the partial government shutdown and how it impacts the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA). While the partial government shutdown continues, the NEA has identified administrative funds that will allow them to temporarily reopen, possibly for up to four weeks. Both the NEA and the National Endowment for the Humanities, which is likewise temporarily reopening, offered this statement:

“Reopening now coincides with the critical workload in mid-January through February that is necessary to award spring grants."

We are always thankful for the work of our colleagues in the NEA. As they find a way to award spring grants that many of our theaters are counting on, we offer them our deep gratitude and solidarity in this difficult time. And we'll continue to track the shutdown developments to keep you updated!
