Support and Vaccine Justice for India and South America

While the U.S. has made uncertain but undeniable progress against COVID-19, the pandemic is worsening in other areas of the world, most notably India, as well as countries in South America like Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Peru, Uruguay, and Venezuela. The stories of suffering are heartbreaking and enraging, and for theatre people with family and friends in these countries, it may be difficult to think about anything else. 

We encourage you to check-in on theatre people with ties to these countries, and to give to efforts to support those on the frontlines. Below are some places to give:

While the Biden administration has taken the long overdue and critical step of backing a COVID-19 vaccine patent waiver, much more must be done to ensure vaccine justice. When you contact your representatives, make sure you mentioned that global vaccine equity is important to you. Global Citizenship has long been a core value of TCG and now, amid the pandemic and climate crisis, it’s even more clear that our mission to lead for a just and thriving theatre ecology can’t stop at the U.S. border.
