I’m new to TCG Convenings and don’t know where to start. What should I do?

Start with the information posted in the Fall-Winter Season section of the TCG website and related pages. Registered attendees will also receive at least two emails leading up to the event with more information. If you have a question about registration or access please contact Anne Ciarlone (aciarlone@tcg.org) and if you have a question about programming or schedule please contact Devon Berkshire (dberkshire@tcg.org).

Where do I find the Fall-Winter Season and learn more about specific information about programming?

Start with the information posted in the Fall-Winter Season section of the TCG website and related pages. Each event as part of the Fall-Winter Season has its own standalone page where event-specific information will be continually added.

What support does TCG offer to people with disabilities? Who can I contact regarding access?

TCG typically offers live captioning and ASL interpretation at our events. Additionally, when filling out your registration form, please indicate any additional access needs you may have. We will follow up with you about this information if need be, and work to support you as best as possible. If you have questions, please contact Anne Ciarlone (aciarlone@tcg.org).

I’m registered, so how do I access the programming?

For virtual events, all registered attendees will receive a Zoom link where the event will take place as part of confirmation of their registration. Additional information will also be shared with registered attendees over email. For in-person events, registered attendees will receive information over email (including agendas, venue information, etc.) closer to the event.

Do TCG convenings have dress codes?

At our in-person events, we encourage attendees to think “professional casual”, but wear what makes you feel comfortable. In a virtual setting, we know attendees will likely be joining from their homes, so we similarly encourage you to do the same!

Will I be expected to be on camera the whole time I am attending virtual programming?

You will not be required to be on camera at any point, but we do encourage you to remain visible to the extent that you are comfortable. Being on camera helps build a sense of community and trust, makes conversations more engaging for everyone, and allows facilitators to “read the room” more so than when many cameras are off. At the same time, we know that it can be draining to be “camera ready” all day, so we encourage you to take breaks as needed.

Are there other basic TCG Zoom best practices I should note?

We encourage you to mute yourself when you’re not speaking, to cut down on background noise. Individual sessions or breakout rooms may offer their own requests for how to interact on Zoom during the session, and TCG may offer some further guidelines closer to the event.

I’d like to attend the Fall-Winter Season, but I’m worried about balancing my child care routine while working remotely.

Understandable! Know that TCG is a family-friendly Zoom space. We welcome and celebrate your children and as we all work remotely, we believe it is important to recognize the difficulties of managing your children with your own professional development. You’re welcome to have your children all around you as needed.

I'm interested in signing up for the November 13th Forum in NYC. How can I sign up?

In order to create a safe experience and ensure equitable representation, the in-person event will only be available to a curated audience of 100 participants. Portions of the event will be livestreamed, and TCG will provide tools about how you can participate actively online, on and following the day of the event; please stay tuned for more information! If you’d like to participate remotely please let us know here, and we will follow up with you.
