Amara (she/her/hers) graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 2017. During the course of her academic career, she interned with the Oklahoma City Cabaret and Barrington Stage Company. She recently finished her contract as the Special Artistic Projects Assistant for the Public Theater after spending time in the same department as their intern in the summer of 2017. Before returning to The Public she also worked as the Artistic Assistant at The Playwrights Realm, and in 2018 she was a social media intern at the Artist as Citizen conference. Hannah and I are excited by Amara’s background at our Member Theatres and familiarity with the field, and we are even more excited by the alignment of her work and TCG’s value system and commitment to EDI. As she stated in her cover letter to us, “At the crux of my artistic endeavors is the integration of theatrical audiences and the elevation of women of color.”
