TCG is excited to present the Roundtable on Reducing Waste While Producing Theatre, hosted in partnership with Green Queens, an organization committed to sustainability and innovation in the arts. Attendees will include staff from the management and production departments of TCG Member Theatres in the Tri-State Area. The roundtable will be facilitated by representatives from Green Queens and TCG.
Session Description: Learn how easy and affordable it can be to reduce, reuse, and recycle at each stage of the production process. Lauren Gaston and Megan Quarles from Green Queens will provide a comprehensive resource list that equips companies with the know-how they need to source and dispose of materials in an environmentally friendly way. Learn how to strike greener, from quick and inexpensive ways to recycle costumes and props fabric to raw materials like lumber and furniture. Current challenges faced by theatre-makers will be discussed in a round table discussion following a brief presentation. With a little advance planning and conversation, we can use our creativity for good!
