If you're not a reader of Connecticut Magazine, you might have missed some exciting news for two dear friends of TCG, Jacob G. Padrón and Tarell Alvin McCraney. They've just been named to the 40 Under 40: Class of 2019 and I wanted to boost the good news here on the Circle.

I just had the pleasure of journeying with Jacob to Chile where he joined TCG's delegation to the Santiago a Mil Festival. He's also currently serving as one of the co-chairs of our 2019 Gala. But TCG's relationship with this extraordinary leader goes back a long way: he has been a SPARK Leader, delivered a powerful "whatifesto" at TCG's 2011 National Conference, served on TCG grant panels, and so much more. We were thrilled when he was appointed artistic director of Long Wharf Theatre, and can't quite believe he's still under 40, having accomplished so much already.

The same can be said for TCG Books playwright Tarell Alvin McCraney. He joined our TCG Books family with The Brother/Sister Plays, and we've just published his gorgeous Choir Boy, now playing on Broadway. I still treasure witnessing him read from his own work at TCG's New Voices in American Theatre event at Greene Space way back in 2011.

So, on behalf of everyone at TCG, we're offering a big congratulations to Jacob, Tarell, and everyone on the list!
