However you balance rest and resolution, we hope your holidays were happy and your New Year well begun. For us, we’re feeling more energized than ever to serve this field we love. Don’t believe me? Check out this video created by dynamic staff duo Rebecca Marzalek-Kelly and Kitty Suen wishing a happy new year from our staff to yours.
That video is just one small part of a month of heightened member engagement. Led by Rebecca and Jen Cleary, and building on the learnings from our recent membership survey, we’re launching a series of calls with Member Theatre staff to go deeper on how to make your membership more meaningful. One big piece of that: the new and improved TCG Circle, which gives you access to peer relationships and curated resources to support your work. Thanks to everyone who has signed up to be a beta tester, and please email Gus Schulenburg if you’d like to help grow the Circle. And remember, you can reach out to us at any time at info@tcg.org or by submitting thoughts with our Anonymous Member Feedback Form.
Gus and Elena Chang will also be co-hosting a webinar on All-Gender Restrooms on January 31, kicking off the first our Practices of Inclusion webinar series. How do you make the case for All-Gender Restrooms to your staff, board, and audience? How do the logistics work? How do you center those most impacted each step of the way? Save 2-3pm ET on Thursday, 1/31 on your calendar, and If you have a story you’d like to share as part of the webinar, please email Gus.
Two quick opportunities:
- I want to make sure you saw the recently released application materials for three National Endowment for the Arts funding categories— Art Works, Challenge America, and Creative Writing Fellowships. The first deadline is February 14.
- If you’re in New York City on January 18, please check out TCG playwrights Annie Baker and Amy Herzog at a free reading and signing event from 5 to 7pm at the Drama Book Shop. This may very well be the last public event at the Drama Book Shop before it reopens at its new location (thank you, Lin-Manuel Miranda and friends), so it’s sure to be a special night.
Finally, we want to thank all of you who generously support the work of TCG. Thank you! If you value a rich and diverse national artistic community, please remember us in your charitable giving. A gift of any amount is deeply appreciated, and tax-deductible contributions can be made directly through our secure online portal- HERE. Thanks to all those who’ve already made a gift to TCG over the holiday season--we couldn’t do it without you!#NEA#Membership
