What a night! Thank you to everyone who attended, donated and contributed to, and cheered on our 2019 TCG Gala: Our Stories. Check out photos from the step-and-repeat and portrait booth, and we’ll be sharing more from our magical night together soon. I want to offer my deep gratitude to our honorees, Martha R. Ingram, Tony Kushner, and Rick Miramontez;  our co-chairs Jacob Padrón, Liesl Tommy, Jordan Roth and Richie Jackson, and Thomas Schumacher and Matthew White; and our amazing staff that made it all possible.

The preparation for our Gala, as well as our board and National Council for the American Theatre (NCAT) meetings kept us so busy we missed our chance to send my Briefing last week, so I’m sharing it here. This edition explored the growing intersection of virtual and theatrical realities; a call to support black storytelling in the wake of rising anti-black violence; and a heartwarming shutdown story from Virginia Stage.

Our February board meeting focused in on the timeline/ history of TCG and key challenges we have addressed through the decades, as well as current field concerns such as the unpredictability attendance in this era. Our NCAT memberss discussed field challenges from their perspective and met with Morgan Stanley economist Robert Rosener to learn about the state of the economy.

Finally, I wanted to leave you with a few updates and opportunities:
