Fundación Teatro a Mil (Teatro a Mil Foundation), based in Santiago de Chile, is offering free access to recorded one-on-one conversations between the renowned American actor and director Tim Robbins and artists Ariane Mnouchkine, Peter Brook and Guillermo Calderón with more interviews to come. The interviews are in English.

The Teatro a Mil Foundation has had the honor of bringing both Mnouchkine and Brook to Chile, within the framework of the internationally renowned Santiago a Mil International Festival. Brook presented the 2007 plays "The Grand Inquisitor" and "Sizwe Banzi is Dead" at the UC Theater. Then in 2011, thanks to the expansion of the Buenos Aires Festival, he arrived in Chile with the play "Magic Flute" presented at the Municipal Theater of Las Condes and at the Pedro Aguirre Cerda Municipal Theater. Originally from Great Britain and now based in France, Peter Brook’s books are published in the U.S. by Theatre Communications Group.

Ariane Mnouchkine, founder of Théâtre du Soleil and an important teacher and a legend of French theater, is by far one of the most influential theatre directors of the last century. She has been a mentor and trainer of dozens of artists, including Andrés Pérez, a groundbreaking figure in the Chilean theater. She has participated in the Santiago a Mil International Festival several times, and as recently as 2015 when she held the Nomad School, a month of training in which more than 200 artists - mainly young students - from Chile and various Latin American countries participated.

Guillermo Calderón, is one of the most prominent contemporary artists in Chile. He is a playwright, screenwriter, and theater director, and is internationally recognized for his work in Chile and abroad. In 2006 he co-founded the Teatro en el Blanco company, for which he wrote and directed Neva and Diciembre. Then came texts such as Class, Villa, Discourse, Escuela, Kiss, Beben, Dragon, among others. His creations have been presented in more than 25 countries, and his play Neva, was published in Spanish and English by Theatre Communications Group.

Tim Robbins, a prominent U.S. film and stage actor, director, and founder of the Actors’ Gang, made his debut in Chile in 2019, at the Santiago a Mil International Festival with the play “The New Colossus” featuring his company. The play was presented at the Municipal Theater of Las Condes, the Municipal Theater of San Joaquín and the Bío-Bío Regional Theater in Chile.
