Grangeville

Grangeville

by Samuel D. Hunter
Originally produced at Signature Theatre, New York, NY

February 4, 2025 – March 16, 2025

Synopsis: Across a void of thousands of miles and oceans of hurt, two half-brothers tentatively reconnect over the care of their ailing mother. Grangeville is a new play about the fallibility of memory, the stories we tell to make sense of our suffering, and the complexity of forgiveness.

Artistic Statement: We are so fortunate to be continuing our deep dive into Sam Hunter's beautiful body of work with Grangeville. With his deft ability to transform everyday experiences into profound meditations on big themes, Sam's courageous writing reminds us of our shared humanity.  In Grangeville, he returns again to his home state of Idaho to explore the complexity of love between two half-brothers driven apart by distance and pain. I cannot wait to share this moving story of two people trying their best to reach each other across physical and emotional divides.  - Emily Shooltz, Artistic Director
