Getting to New York City

By Air:

Participants are responsible for their own travel accommodations, but TCG advises utilizing one of the many reputable travel websites to book airfare at the best possible rate. You may want to start by checking rates at Travelocity, Expedia, Orbitz, Priceline or Kayak. NYC area airport options include JFK International, LaGuardia Airport and Newark Liberty International.

By Train:

Amtrak trains travel directly into New York's Penn Station daily. Call Amtrak for schedule and rates at (800) 872-7245 or visit the Amtrak website.

Transportation from Airports:

There are taxi stations at all major NYC area airports, but here are some alternative options:

Super Shuttle

(212) 258-3826

Runs from LaGuardia, JFK and Newark airports. To locate the shuttle from the airport, follow signs to the baggage claim area and locate the ground transportation counter. They will assist you further. You do not need reservations from the airport, but returning to the airport requires reservations. The cost from JFK and Newark is $23 per passenger and the cost from LaGuardia is $15 per passenger for most Manhattan destinations.

Carmel Car Service

(800) 9-CARMEL or (212) 666-6666

Make your reservation 24 hours in advance. The cost from JFK is $44 curbside, plus tip and toll. The cost from LaGuardia is $30 curbside, plus tip and toll. The cost from Newark is $46 curbside, plus tip and toll. An additional $5-7 will be applied to pickup between 8PM and 4AM.

AirTrain JFK

Take AirTrain JFK to/from Jamaica or Howard Beach station and connect to/from MTA Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) trains, MTA New York City Transit subways and local buses. The cost is $5 plus cost of the subway or LIRR train. Take AirTrain to connect to the following trains and subways:

  • the LIRR at Jamaica Station
  • the E, J/Z subways at Jamaica Station
  • the A subway at Howard Beach Station

AirTrain Newark

Take AirTrain to/from Newark Airport Train Station and connect to/from NJ Transit or Amtrak trains. If you choose to use NJ Transit, connect with trains that run on the Northeast Corridor or North Jersey Coast Line. If you choose to use Amtrak, connect with trains that run on the Northeast Corridor Line. The cost of the AirTrain is $5.50 plus the cost of the connecting train. Check with NJ Transit or Amtrak to determine ticket cost, check train schedule and confirm that the train you want stops at your destination.

Getting to Fall Forum Venues

The MTA subway system runs throughout New York City. You can purchase a MetroCard in most stations. The cost is $2.75 per ride. Below are directions to the meeting sites via subway and other modes of transport.

To reach Convene Park Avenue (237 Park Avenue):

For simplest access to the space, we recommend entering the following address into Google Maps or your chosen GPS: 466 Lexington Avenue, New York, NY 10017.

Please click here for detailed directions.

TCG recommends taking a taxi, car or shuttle to the hotel from your airport or train station if you are unfamiliar with New York streets or not comfortable following GPS on your mobile device. Midtown can be complicated!

You may also try downloading Lyft or another ride sharing app onto your smartphone, which makes it easy to call a car service or yellow cab from anywhere in Manhattan. If you are comfortable taking the NYC subway system, we recommend using your mobile device to help you navigate your way to the hotel from the nearest subway stop. The nearest subway stop to the space is the Grand Central - 42nd St 4/5/6/7/S.

TCG highly recommends visiting the Weekender section of the MTA website to stay up to date on planned service changes, which occur more frequently on the weekends. A downloadable and printable version of the MTA's subway map can also be found here

Parking:

Please check back soon for the best options for parking near Convene Park Avenue.
